Spring has sprung!!! {Creative Collective spring project}

hello!

Would you like to see what I made for the Creative Collective SPRING themed craft project?

These are embellishments that can be used for scrapbooking, cardmaking, gift topping (instead of a store bought bow!), gift tags...etc

would you like to know more about the Creative Collective?

"Creative Collective is a group of creative Bloggers who have joined together to bring fun, interactive projects to their readers. Periodically these Bloggers will post the latest project to their blogs and invite their readers to take part. Projects might include creating a craft item based on a particular theme, a craft or stationery swap, giveaways, photo project or anything else we can dream up!"

I might start selling these in the shop - what do you think?

watch this!

Hey, hey - I just watched this fab clip of the awesome Miss Pip (Lincolne), Crafting Queen of Meet Me At Mike's fame, appearing on TV ( The Circle ), to talk about how Nanna-crafts are cool once more.

{If you are reading this - you knew that already, but not everyone is as cool as you and I right??!}

watch here:

Of course I am not the only fan of Pip, here her new book is featured on one of my absolute favourite blogs.

Pip Lincolne is a TV-natural - warm, effervesent & inspiring. She makes me want to make things.
Now I want to make a shirt cushion...EVEN I could sew one of those!!! : )

I can't wait to buy her new book Sew La Tea Do

Do you live in Sydney??

... I do. If you do too, maybe you'd like to come along to the ABCD meet-up.
I am going. I am looking forward to meeting lots of lovely creative types (and having a couple of hours off from 'Tiddlypeep' duty to boot!!)

Photo: this gorgeous banner is by BabysBunting on Etsy
   The details:
"The ABCD (Artists + Bloggers + Crafters + Designers) Meetup is a chance for art, design and craft bloggers to get out from behind their computers and meet face-to-face at a casual quarterly get-together. The meet-ups have no set structure, and are designed to be an informal gathering at a bar or cafe on a Thursday evening."

The Sydney meetup is     hosted by Steph Bond (Bondville) and Lisa Tilse (The Red Thread )

Participants simply need to RSVP before the event date, and are given a name badge at the meet-up, as well as the opportunity to share something with the other attendees in the ABCD goodie bags - a great way to be a little creative and help others remember you. Previous goodies have included mini lavender sachets, origami birds, product samples, cards, etc.

The important bits:

WHEN: Thursday October 28, 2010
TIME: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
WHERE: 3 Weeds Hotel 197 Evans Street, Rozelle

Fab Finds

I spend a LOT of time on the internet and I am always finding fab things.

I'd like to share these with you my friends, so this is the first post, of what will be a regular feature on my blog, and I shall name it "Fab Finds!"!!
{Rather apt, no??!!}   : )

Endless Summer brooch by Fleur Fatale

This morning some guys came and trimmed the overgrown, unruly bush, outside my workroom window. Said bush was right up to the roof, but now there's lots more light coming in and I can see the blue sky, lots of green leaves, and the house opposite is painted a kind of pale chartreuse green.

So, today I am inspired by combinations of different blues and greens.
I am especially loving the pairing of
AQUA & CHARTREUSE

Hello! Nice to meet you!!

Hmmmm... Where to start, Where to start?
This has been my dilemma for some time... in fact between you and I (ssssh, don’t tell anyone!), this blog has been under construction for maybe, well, a year!

Oh dear!
The time has come to stop procrastinating methinks!!
Part of the problem was, that I could not get it to “look” right! I am new to’ blogging’ and much other technical stuff besides....
But you know what, let’s just agree it will be a work in progress. That will make me relaxed enough to begin! Thanks!! : )

So, I think I should begin by introducing myself and my world....
I am Sally ~ I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a textile designer, an Etsy shop owner, a computer addict, an Ex-Pat, a keen traveller, a hoarder... and most importantly of all A MUM!!
I have two gorgeous, cheeky little boys, aged 5 and 3, whom I stay home to look after, whilst simultaneously running my Etsy shop (they like to help by sorting buttons into colours, and so on), and also freelancing, when there’s any textiles work around!

Okay ENOUGH about me...
Here are some pics of my home, my locale and some of my favourite things and then we’ll leave it at that.

If you’ve got this far, thanks muchly!!
Now a cup of tea and a cupcake for you??

Sally x

Please stop by again,
COMING VERY SOON.... a collaborative project, a giveaway and more...
