Customer Appreciation ~ Becki's bracelets!

Hi there, how are you?

I love it when my customers send me photos / blog links of things they have made with Jambo Chameleon supplies.
I just received a link to such a blog post on her blog BeckyButton.

I recently sold a custom listing of grey buttons to a lovely customer named Becki.
She wanted the buttons to make bracelets for her best friend's wedding. Just look at the fabulous job she did! She bought the grey ones from me and the pink from another Etsy seller (although I would happily have supplied her both, I don't have pink ones listed though... I digress, sorry!!).

Becki has her own great etsy shop, Becky Button, which you may like to check out!

Are YOU a button lover??
What do you make with them, if so?

Focus on I HEART GALLERY - Jambo Chameleon's Sydney stockist

Hi there Lovlies,

3 months ago a new venture called I Heart Gallery, opened up it's Sydney doors.
It is my first stockist -outside my Etsy shop - for my crafty-wares!
Anastasia of Percival Road and I, decided to jump on board with a shared shelf.

"What is I Heart Gallery" you ask?
Well, here's what they say about themselves:
"I Heart Gallery is essentially an indoor market bazaar and gallery. We provide the venue and the staff, you rent a space and sell your goodies. We provide a range of display options for a minimal weekly rental price and 10% commission on sales.

The I Heart Philosophy
Half art gallery, half op shop we are a young, vibrant, unique store with a surreal sense of humour and love of the bizarre. Put together by a ragtag bunch of misfits, artists, crafters and hoarders, I Heart Gallery is FOR artists, BY artists. We understand what it means to struggle to pay for your own materials, let alone trying to pay for gallery space, a market stall or expensive consignment store as well. That is why we want to offer fellow artists a more affordable venue to showcase and sell their work.

Our dream is to promote creativity, passion, vision and a sense of community in our little world".

Here's what they wrote about ME on their blog:
Jambo Chameleon is run by Sally who is a textile designer and loves buttons, brads, bakers twine, doilies, carnival tickets, bingo cards, vintage sheet music, paper ephemera, textiles, baking cupcakes, colour and never growing up! Which also sounds just like us ;) lol. She loves to rescue old treasures from a fate worse than death – the dreaded landfill. Tattered and forlorn books find a re-use, re-cycle, re-vamp and re-purpose in Sallys loving care! And thank goodness for that. We love books and hate the thought of once loved treasures being tossed away when they start to fall apart. So much better to make them into something else so they can be used and loved again!

It’s hard to choose a favourite item but we are particularly enamoured of the... vintage ricrac and some of the buttons and ephemera sets are just gorgeous! Perfect for your own art, craft or scrapbooking. In fact some of the other stockists at I Heart Gallery have used items from Jambo Chameleon...to make their own work! What a small world. :D

These are some of my crafty goodies stocked there....

and now...
Here's ome of the other lovely items on offer.........

Fab Finds #10 - Dream Sweetly

Hi there,
today it's cold, I'm tired, it's monday.... and I was feeling rather "blah' but I was just given a huge lift thanks to coming across a posting on facebook, about a painting given as a gift...
Dream Sweetly Acrylics on canvas

78 x 60 inch

So, NOW I am inspired by one the most wonderful paintings I have ever seen!
It was painted by Tinniegirl (aka Cathy Kirwan) as a surprise birthday gift for her friend Curlypops (aka Cam).
Thus my latest 'fab finds' from Etsy are in the spirit of this painting, be it reminiscent of the lovely name, the happy /hot colours or the fabulous abstract floral theme...

Junk Mail mixed media canvas by Jill Reister

Coral Dreams corsage brooch by Vivid Spirit
I'm now off to collect Mr.6 from school, and on my
return, I'm really hoping to set the boys up with a
crafty (yes, pun absolutely intended! teehee!)
creative activity, as I am feeling
in the mood to make some more of these.

{ie. my Graffiti Flowers, embellishments made from
found papers, such as security envelopes, junk mail, and pages from
old forlorn vintage kids books! You can find
them in my shop here.}

Finally, let's just take a look at another of Cathy's
wonderful paintings...

Ohh, how I wish she were MY best friend and I too had such a painting gracing MY wall!! :0}

P'Interesting!

Hello Lovelies!

...Have you discovered 'Pinterest' yet?
Maybe you are addicted to it, like I currently am?!

For the uninitiated - Pinterest is basically a 'virtual pinboard' — a place where you can create collections of things you love / that inspire you; and you can "follow" collections created by people with similar great taste to your own. It's a fabulous way to get inspired for designing, shopping, baking, even planning an event!

Here's a couple of lovely images I found and pinned, to whet your appetite...

view it here - it links to it's original (fab blog) source!
find this one here ( & original source here!)
If you'd like to 'follow' me there, I can be found here!

(you will need to sign up for your own account though).

I am busily getting ready for my first brick and mortar stockist (more about that soon),
and my son's DINOSAUR party (also more soon).

What are you working on this week?

Whatever it is, enjoy it!

Fab Finds #9 ~ RAINY DAYS!

Cloudy Rainy DayNecklace by Joy Peck Joy

It's raining it's pouring, the Old man is snoring (actually he's not, he's in the kitchen making lunch for the munchkins, whilst I work!!) hehe.
But, YES, it's raining all right, and raining and raining and raining. So, in actual fact it's a great time for me to sit and catch up with things, including preparing for a craft fair and a birthday party (more on both events later on!)

Whilst I get on with creating, sorting, packing etc, I thought you could enjoy these rainy day inspired lovelies I found on Etsy.
I love the concept of no matter the weather, you bring your own sunshine as denoted in Penny Wishes print (below)!!
So true!
