Monday Marvellous - Poppy Day...

Poppy Mixed media collage by Mimi studio on Etsy
Hello there!
How are you today?
I am posting this 'Monday Marvellous' post early as November 11th,  was Remembrance Day and I was inspired by that. For the uninitiated, Remembrance Day is a day when people in Commonwealth countries take time to remember and honour those who have made sacrifices in times of war and military conflict, so that we may be free.

Poppies are synonymous with Remembrance, in fact in my homeland of Great Britain we call today - Poppy Day , the Royal British Legion sell paper poppies, and everyone from school kids to politicians are to be seen sporting one proudly. The reason Poppies are associated with this day harks back to the First World War, where the fields of Flanders, Belguim in particular saw some of the bloodiest and most concentrated fighting. Along with the loss of human life, buildings, trees and much flora and fauna perished. Miraculously perhaps one living thing to survive along with the luckier of the fighters was the Poppy. The beautiful fields of Poppies which flowered each year brought hope, colour and reassurance to the many still fighting. You may know the famous poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae from 1915.

Here I have gathered a bouquet of modern poppies for you to enjoy.

Flowers for YOU!!!

lovely card from Smock paper on Etsy

Hello, how are you today?

So, yesterday was 'THAT' day (♥ the 14th Feb ♥),
did you get any Valentine goodies??

I was lucky enough to receive from 'Hubs' a card, a yummy mint chocolate bar and a Terry's Choc. Orange (YUMMO!!).

Anyway, my Lovlies, for those of you who were
not so lucky in love this year...

I would like to give you some flowers!

Spoil yourself is what I say, you don't necessarily need someone else to do it, do you?
...show YOURSELF some love!! yay!

What are your favourite ways to give yourself a treat?

I like to buy a magazine, chocolate or have a Pedicure (if I ever have the time, inclination, money etc!!).
If not it's usually a nice hot bath, or just a cup of tea - whatever I can manage between 'Mum duties'
and so on!

Love,
Sally xox

Fab Finds

I spend a LOT of time on the internet and I am always finding fab things.

I'd like to share these with you my friends, so this is the first post, of what will be a regular feature on my blog, and I shall name it "Fab Finds!"!!
{Rather apt, no??!!}   : )

Endless Summer brooch by Fleur Fatale

This morning some guys came and trimmed the overgrown, unruly bush, outside my workroom window. Said bush was right up to the roof, but now there's lots more light coming in and I can see the blue sky, lots of green leaves, and the house opposite is painted a kind of pale chartreuse green.

So, today I am inspired by combinations of different blues and greens.
I am especially loving the pairing of
AQUA & CHARTREUSE
