Customer Appreciation ~ Kelsey's Button Bouquet

Hi there! ...

Today I'd love to show you something one of my clever customers made.

Her name is Kelsey and this is the fab button bouquet she made for her wedding. Her and her partner (now hubby) Aaron, eloped on 'Cinco De Mayo'  and then threw a wedding for family and friends afterwards.
"Double wedding-time!" says Kelsey - sounds fun to me!

The flowers are made from birchwood shavings, by a  Philippine Etsy seller, (unfortunately the shop no longer exists).

Kelsey says:

"We paid for our own wedding so our budget was teensy and while flowers are awesome, they're too expensive for what we were planning. I found the idea for a button bouquet on Off Beat Bride. I changed the technique a little but it's basically the same idea. All you need is buttons of various sizes and colors, floral wire or a small gauge jewelry wire, pliers, floral tape and wire cutters. And patience, haha!" .....

Kelsey continues:
"I highly recommend to anyone to take on some crafts when planning their wedding because
a) it keeps you sane!
b) it saves you money! "
One of the button packs Kelsey bought from me - beautiful vintage 'Butterscotch' buttons

Thanks so much for sharing Kelsey!

I love it when my customers send me photos of things they make from their
 Jambo Chameleon purchases!

Bye for now!

Two Cheeky Monkeys: Simple Button Headband Tutorial

Buttons from Jambo Chameleon (of course!!!)
I was thrilled to be mentioned on a fellow Aussie DUST team member/ Etsy seller's blog -
in which the lovely Deb gives us a simple tutorial for a really effective headband!

I LOVE it when customers share what they have made with my buttons!
... or even just fun ideas for using buttons in general!
(Feel free to send me a message / photos if you have any button projects to share).

By the way, Deb also has a couple of great Etsy shops herself (and one on Madeit), where she sells her handmade jewellery and homewares.
So why not visit Two Cheeky Monkeys and Domum Vindemia to see what Deb has been making lately.

Customer Appreciation ~ Becki's bracelets!

Hi there, how are you?

I love it when my customers send me photos / blog links of things they have made with Jambo Chameleon supplies.
I just received a link to such a blog post on her blog BeckyButton.

I recently sold a custom listing of grey buttons to a lovely customer named Becki.
She wanted the buttons to make bracelets for her best friend's wedding. Just look at the fabulous job she did! She bought the grey ones from me and the pink from another Etsy seller (although I would happily have supplied her both, I don't have pink ones listed though... I digress, sorry!!).

Becki has her own great etsy shop, Becky Button, which you may like to check out!

Are YOU a button lover??
What do you make with them, if so?

New in Store...

so, I've added another new listing to Jambo Chameleon on Etsy.

This is reminiscent of those 'glam' days of the eighties - with shows like Dallas and Dynasty, starring actors like Joan Collins and Victoria Principal, oh and ubiquitous shoulder pads!!

Joan Collins and Linda Evans square up in Dynasty

Well, inspired by this sparkly era, here's a little lucky dip of bling for you to create with - especially fun for making jewellery I would suggest.
Of course you may have your own super-creative ideas?

Let's take a look:

Lucky Dip Bling
Oh what fun!!
And for those of you a little more conservative*, I have added a new section for button sets
{* or just wanting matching buttons!!}
Here's an example (or two!):

many more coming, so do keep checking in!!

Hope these bright, kitschy sparkles have brightened your day a little,
Sally xox

back in business....

...just a quick post to let you know that I have re-opened JAMBO CHAMELEON on Etsy.

As you may, or may not know, I have been closed for about 3 weeks, as life had just become too hectic
with my brother over from Blighty & staying with us, my eldest son beginning school and more; and I was struggling to keep up!

I am looking forward to adding many more items over the coming days and weeks, so please stop by often :D
I am especially hoping to add more vintage & handmade goodies - but you can also be sure there will never be a shortage of buttons in store for you!!!

A little while ago a lovely girl named Nicole bought some buttons from my shop.

The other day, I received some sweet feedback, along with a photo of the bouquet which Nicole had made with said buttons - for her very own wedding.

The bouquet is gorgeous, I just had to share it with you!  ♥  ♥  ♥

Ohhhh and look at the lovely couple, I just love this fab wedding photo. Don't they look gorgeous, and like they are both so much fun!!? And happy and in love too? Yes, they absolutely do, don't they! :-)

You may be wondering about the name
Jambo Chameleon??
Well, I will tell you a little story...

Once upon a time, an excited loopy lass on her honeymoon in Kenya, saw a real, live chameleon for the very first time. It was a tiny, cute little fella and she got to (nervously) hold it in her hand.

The lass greeted her new friend
"Jambo Chameleon!"
{'JAMBO' being Swahili - the local lingo - for hello!!}.

This was a memorable moment and somehow the pairing of these two words just stuck in her mind...
